In the fourth quarter of 2011, an average of 46 per cent of mobile customers owned a smartphone. Among recent mobile customers, 60 per cent preferred a smartphone over a feature phone.

Key findings of the Nielsen Report

•    The majority of 25-34 and 18-24 year olds now own smartphones (64% and 53% respectively)
