First Incubator Release Enhances Scope of Flex Development

Amongst all Rich Internet Applications Adobe Flex has been one of the most prominent ones. The aspects provided for developing internet applications has enabled many developers from all over the world to opt for Flex as their platform.

As the new version of Flex was much speculated amongst the Flex developers’ community, the expectations were also sky high. The released version did attract some attention with its new aspects which seemed promising and exciting to the Flex developers.

The latest version of the Software Development Kit has been touted to be almost flawless and has been reported to have overcome the issues which the Flex programmers faced while developing projects using the past versions. Flex consists of the Flash Builder which has three major components which are source code editor, build automation tools and a debugger using which every Flex developer can build his/her own project. These new developments which have been added to Adobe Flex have created a new buzz around the platform. More and more new developers using other technologies are looking at Adobe Flex, which is currently with Apache Software Foundation, as a platform to build more efficient projects of theirs.

The currently trending technology is the Android Operating System for mobile devices. The speculation that Android might allow native Flex based applications to be compatible with it has given high hopes for both independent and corporate Flex programmers. The scope for developing platform based applications and internet based applications for the mobile platform is regarded to be one of the industries with the most potential presently. Thus it is expected that there will be a rise in demand for projects developed on the Flex platform and for Flex programmers.

The time and money saving aspect of Flex has been the reason for developers to choose it as a platform to develop their complex and sophisticated projects. This advantage has been one of the most prominent aspects of Flex which appeals to the developers using other technologies. Still there is a bit of uncertainty amongst the developers’ community which is gradually coming down. Though the advantages posed by Flex make it simple for the project developers, the challenges faced by these developers due to issues of compatibility make them skeptical about using Flex.

To tackle these challenges developments are being done in the Apache Software Development to completely revive the existence of Flex as a completely active platform. The community too supports the Flex programmer actively round the clock. The process of development and design can be done within matter of hours if the Flex programmer is well versed with the aspects of Flex.

With such enhancements of Flex it is implausible that this technology might just fade away. Experts have not given up on Flex yet but if applications continue to get disregarded due to compatibility issues then the future of Flex does not seem bright. But with the new developments from Flex and its developers there definitely seems to be bright future.
